The name Areum, meaning “beauty” in Korean, reflects our belief that true beauty isn’t about perfection—it’s about balance, intention, and personal care. We focus on creating an experience that feels harmonious and thoughtful, where your comfort is always the priority.
Meet your doctor
Get to know Dr. Jenny Sunwoo
Born in Seoul and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Jenny Sunwoo brings a global perspective and a heartfelt passion to her work. With encouragement from her uncle-a dentist in Korea-Dr. Sunwoo first explored dentistry through shadowing, and she was quickly drawn to the way the field combines hands-on skill with the power to heal and connect. Today, she brings that same thoughtful approach to every patient she meets.
Dr. Sunwoo earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego. She went on to complete her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Midwestern University in Arizona. Her extensive training includes certifications from the Smile Trend Institute and SPEAR, and she maintains memberships with both the American Dental Association (ADA) and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD).
Known for her calm presence and personalized approach, Dr. Sunwoo creates a space where patients-especially those with dental anxiety-can feel comfortable and cared for. Her favorite treatments include smile makeovers, same-day crowns, and aligner therapy, because she loves helping patients feel confident in their smiles while making the process as efficient and stress-free as possible.
Beyond her clinical expertise, Dr. Sunwoo is driven by a desire to build relationships. She truly enjoys getting to know patients and being part of their health journey-through every stage of life. Her approach is rooted in education and honesty, empowering you with all the information you need to make the right decisions for your smile.
Outside the office, you’ll find her spending time with loved ones or exploring new corners of the world through travel. Whether she’s in the office or abroad, Dr. Sunwoo is constantly learning and evolving-bringing that same spirit of curiosity and care to Areum Dental Studio every day.

We take time to understand your goals, answer your questions, and guide you through your options with complete transparency. From digital forms to a stress-free welcome, we’ve designed every detail to make your visit feel personal and relaxed.
Patient Experience
Expect more than a dental appointment-expect a personalized experience designed with your comfort in mind. You’ll be offered a warm towel, a beverage, or a pair of headphones while you enjoy Netflix in your treatment room. We’ll walk you through your x-rays and photos during your exam so you feel informed and empowered every step of the way.
What to Bring
Please bring the following items with you to your first visit:
- Valid photo ID
- Dental insurance card, if applicable
- Completed digital new patient forms (submitted prior to your visit)
- Any records or previous x-rays you may have
